Benefits of using Trampoline Nets for exercise

With each year that passes it seems more and more people are realizing the benefits of trampoline exercise, otherwise known as rebounding. As we approach summer more parents will be buying trampolines for their children providing a fun opportunity to get them out of the house and away from their computer games or from watching television.

However its not just children who benefit from trampoline exercise. Trampoline exercise is considered one of the best forms of exercise for adults and one of the most effective ways of loosing weight.

Benefits of Rebounding Exercise

In fact a study from NASA found that a 150-pound individual spending one-hour on a rebounder will burn more calories than the same person jogging for an hour. According to NASAs Journal of Applied Physiology it is 68% more efficient than jogging.

Rebounding reduces body fat and increases muscle to fat ratio. It also improves the efficiency with which the body burns carbohydrate and can help lower blood pressure. The G-force produced by jumping on a trampoline also improves body tone as it is not just the legs and heart that is exercised but the whole body. Also trampoline exercise does not harm the joints such as the knees. There is no high impact on the body that occurs when exercising on a hard surface.

Trampoline exercise also facilitates the body’s natural detoxification mechanism. It is a unique exercise in which a weightless state is achieved at the top of each jump and landing achieves twice the force of gravity on each bounce. This shift in gravity benefits every muscle and cell of the body and provides huge benefits to the lymph system.

The lymphatic system is a defence mechanism against infection, viruses, bacteria and disease. It is comprised of fluid, vessels and ducts and filled with millions of one-way valves which transports nutrients and drains toxin products from tissues. By rebounding on a trampoline this causes these valves to open and close simultaneously increasing lymph flow as much as 15 times. This boosts immunity, removes toxins and helps to slow down the aging process. Rebounding is like giving every cell in our body a thorough detox.

Jumping on a trampoline is particularly beneficial for those of an older age as it strengthens and lengthens muscles improving flexibility. It also strengthens bone density which helps to prevent osteoporosis and strengthens the joints, tendons and ligaments which can help to reduce the chances of some forms of arthritis.

Trampoline Safety

If your worried about the safety implications of jumping on a trampoline or the weather is not conducive to being outdoors there is no need to buy a large expensive trampoline or even exercise outdoors. There are now many rebounding exercises available that enable you to exercise in the comfort of your own home using a mini-trampoline which is just as affective form of exercise.

If you are considering purchasing an outdoor trampoline for your child you should ensure that there is sufficient padding around the edge of the trampoline to protect them against any hard surfaces. You should also consider trampoline netting.  Good trampoline netting will not just prevent someone from falling off onto the ground but will cover the inner circumference of the trampoline preventing them from falling onto the trampoline frame.

The First Trampoline Net

The trampoline as we know it has not changed since its invention in 1934 by two gymnasts who used it to open their business which they called Trampolines & Tumblers. In 1999, the trampoline was actually considered a sport suitable for the Olympics. Since that time it has become the fun and exercise activity for the average family. The trampoline can be small or large, indoor or outdoor and have shapes that are square, round, rectangular or octagonal. The indoor trampolines tend to be smaller and more then likely would be used by a child. It is important to use safety features on your trampoline whether indoor or outdoor. Trampoline netting is a good beginning for trampoline safety.

Not only is the trampoline netting important but other safety features are also needed. The pad at the perimeter of the trampoline should be well padded and cover the gap between the springs and the edge of the trampoline. Most injuries are caused when the jumper gets caught or falls in the gap between the springs and the edge. The trampoline should be equipped with handles to hold onto particularly for the small or novice jumper, ladders, mats, enclosures and of course, the trampoline net. When buying your trampoline you should inquire as to whether these safety accessories are part of the purchase. If they are not then you should certainly invest in them as they may save a life or a prevent a serious injury

Buying a trampoline with net is not difficult if you know what you are looking for. The net for the trampoline is the same as the enclosure. When you buy the net be sure it flexes and has padded poles to avoid injury. If your trampoline is outdoors be sure that the net is made of materials that are UV resistant and will stand up in any kind of weather. You want to avoid corrosion and rust to keep your trampoline providing you and your family with years of fun and games. Whether you are young or old enjoy rebounding.

Setting up your Trampoline Net

Trampoline netting is important especially if children are going to use the unit. The top trampoline safety netting or enclosures are manufactured particularly for safety. They are long-lasting, structurally sound, and present safety features specially made with consideration for younger users.

Before you set up a trampoline netting, there are a few things to keep in mind. You should ascertain that the net system wraps outside the supporting posts and that the net is connected to the posts securely. You should also ensure that the supporting posts are durable and securely fastened to the trampoline frame.

To get started, establish a safe location for your trampoline. Usually, this is a place where there is adequate clearance and it is free of hazardous objects. You should first organize all your materials, including things like the sprockets, washers and net for easy access. If you notice you are lacking some parts, contact the manufacturer or seller.

Now you can set up all the posts. With the materials presented, connect one post to the outside leg of the trampoline. The post will sit about 6 feet above the trampoline. In addition, gauge the net prior to connecting it to the unit. The top linking strap of the trampoline netting is wider than the bottom and should thus be above the net. Once you have looped the loop-end of the strap around the posts, the net should be inserted between the trampoline and the safety pad. Finally, keep binding the strap around the post until the end of the net, and then secure a knot at the edge of the strap.

What to buy the kids for Christmas?

I’ve got no idea what to buy my kids for Christmas this year! I have three year old twin boys and two step children.

I think for my boys I’m going to get a lot of clothes (thats really more for me then them…), Hotwheels stuff, a trampoline (with the net!), and some leap-pad stuff.

My step-daughter is eight and I’m giving her clothes and some books and a little makeup. My step-son is six and I dont know what to give him!

Tips for my three year old sons, my eight year old step-daughter and my six year old step-son?
They all have their own bikes (trikes for my boys) and skates.

Next week the pools open so we are going to hit them.

what is your daily routine during the summer?
we usually wake up around 7: which (to my kids) is sleeping in. :)
than we eat breakfast and get ready and than we leave around 10-11 and go do something around the town. :)
